ZION NEWS: November

Thank You Lord!

“’Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you-majestic in
holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? You stretched out your right hand
and the earth swallowed them. In your unfailing love you will lead the people you
have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.’”
Exodus 15:11-13
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations
what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to
the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has
done, his miracles, and the judgements he pronounced,” I Chronicles 16:8-12
 He is sovereign: “How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over
all the earth!” For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of
praise. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.”
Psalm 47:2, 7 & 8
“At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward
heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I
honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal
dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the
peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with
the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back
his hand or say to him: ‘What have you done?’” Daniel 4:24, 35
“’You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and
power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and
have their being.’” Revelation 4:11
 He is faithful: “I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I
will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare
that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in
heaven itself.” “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your
throne; love and faithfulness go before you.” Psalm 89:1, 2 & 14
“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion
endures through all generations. The Lord is faithful to all his promises and
loving toward all he has made.” Psalm 145:13
“He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless
on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God who has called you into fellowship
with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.” I Corinthians 1:8, 9
 He will intercede: “’I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God
of Daniel. For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will
never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has
rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.’” Daniel 6:26, 27
“…the (Holy) Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” “If God is for us, who can
be against us?” “Christ Jesus, …-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” (for entire text
Romans 8:26-34)
 Since: “The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The
world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.” Psalm 93:1 “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let
nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in
the Lord is not in vain.” I Corinthians 15:58
Thank you Lord!
His by grace,
Chris

November Message & Scripture
November 1-“The Preeminence of Jesus 5”, Hebrews 2:1-18
November 8-Speaker: Corby Shuey

Messages from the Worship Team

  1. Do you have a musical selection that is special or
meaningful to you? Perhaps a favorite hymn, or maybe a
contemporary piece that has inspired you, or just an
uplifting chorus that enables you to express your praise
and glory to God. A music selection box is being placed in
the vestibule into which you may place titles of your
choice. Prayerful consideration will be given to these
selections by the worship team for use in future worship
services. We suggest music choices that are personal
favorites but that might also encourage or edify others,
pieces that are requested in honor of….. (e.g., birthdays,
anniversaries), pieces that are in memory of…..(e.g., loved
ones favorites, songs of testimony to loved ones), and of
course music that has no other purpose than to focus our
attention on the AWESOME and ALMIGHTY GOD we serve!
Please include your name with your selection so that we
may contact you in the event that there is a question about
the tune, arrangement, etc. or licensing rights for the title
    of your choice.
  2. The invocation and “praylude” are actions that serve as an
introduction to something more important, focusing our
attention on the Lord. To help achieve this, please submit
announcements to the church secretary by 9:00 A.M.
Friday for inclusion in the bulletin for the following Sunday
    morning service (i.e., by 9:00 A.M. Friday, November 6,
2020 for the Sunday, November 8, 2020 bulletin). Please
also use other forms of communication to invite, promote,
announce, etc. what is happening in the life of our
congregation (e.g., newsletter, website, Facebook, prayer
chain). Unforeseen announcements will be honored prior
to the 10:10 A.M. start of our worship time or as part of
our prayer time as in emergencies or distress.

Membership classes

Membership classes will begin Sunday,
January 3rd. The schedule is the 1st & 3
rd Sunday of January and February during the
Sunday School hour (9-9:50a.m.). The classes
are open to anyone and membership is not
required at the end. If you are interested in
learning more about our church, you are
welcome. Please let Pastor Chris know if you
will be attending.

Fall Forum Business Meeting is Monday

attend this bi-annual meeting and

Operation Christmas Child

It’s that time again for Operation Christmas Child! The Youth
Group will be packing 25 shoeboxes this year with items
donated by the congregation. Please see the sign-up list on
the rear bulletin board for specific items that are desired for
filling our boxes. We ask that you sign-up for one or more
items, each in a quantity of five (e.g. five bars of soap). Items
should be placed in boxes in the narthex near the mailboxes by
Sunday, Nov. 8th, on which date the youth will be packing the
boxes for shipment. Keep in mind that items should be small,
and certain items cannot be packed (e.g. toothpaste, liquids,
candy, gum). Please see Dawn K. with any questions.
