A New Season
Last month’s Zion News article was entitled “Standing Firm on God’s
Holy Word”. It highlighted that all scripture is God-breathed, the Word
is alive, and the Spirit is at work in our lives.
In the day in which we live, not all local churches believe that the Bible
is the final authority in our lives. Last year, Mount Zion Road Church
made a commitment that compromising the Word will not be
tolerated. As evidence of that decision, we selected our church slogan:
‘Standing Firm on God’s Holy Word.’ Ephesians 6:11 says: “Put on the
full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the
schemes of the devil.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 says: “Be on the alert, stand
firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” And Philippians 4:1 reads:
“Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and
crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.” How blessed are
we to know that God loves us so much that He gave us specific
instruction so that we do not stumble on worldly things that are in
direct contrast with scripture!
“Celebration Sunday” is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2020.
We are recognizing who we are as a congregation at MZR and what we
believe in. This is an outreach effort that also serves as an
announcement to the local community. It’s an invitation for local
people to join us for worship and a fellowship meal immediately
following. The outreach theme is “Start a New Season.” In a sense,
MZR has already started a new season after the separation from the
denomination and in light of the history of this church as a whole. This
‘new season’ can also be seen as a chance for those in our local
community to make a decision to come to worship and hear the truth
of God’s Word. We pray a blessing on this effort that a seed is planted,
lives are changed, and that Jesus will be glorified.
Romans 10:14: “How then will they call on him in whom they have not
believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never
heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”

Congratulations to out Graduate!
Congratulations to our 2020 graduate Eric!
He graduated from Lebanon County CTC in
Industrial Machining with an “Excellence
Award” and “Rotary Student of the Month
Award” and Northern Lebanon High School
“Magna Cum Laude” and is employed at
Lebanon Tool Co./PRL Industries (which makes
military parts). He started there in his Junior
year recommended by his instructor as an
intern and continued on through his Senior
year and is now hired full-time. He loves
working on the lathe and milling machines and
helping with quality control. He fills his “free
time” building, inventing or fixing anything and
everything in the shop at the farm; operating
equipment and helping with field work;
working on his ATV or his reconditioned 1978
Ford; and hanging out with friends, line
dancing and spending time with his girlfriend.
May God bless you in life’s journey.
